TCCS Parents and Guardians:
Students practiced weather preparedness today to understand and prepare in case of a severe weather event. They also learned the difference between a watch and a warning.
Did You know?
Indiana averages 22 tornadoes a year. Because we know seconds count, TCCS and TCSC have developed detailed plans of action to respond to a severe weather event. The tornado drills practiced several times a year help keep students and staff prepared and work out any kinks in the drill before it is needed in real time. We also have signs posted throughout the hallways directing students and staff to safe areas.
Students were also given instruction in the event of an earthquake. Drop, cover, and hold on is typical language given in the event of an earthquake. For more information please visit shakeout.org.
During many of our school safety drills the elementary and MS/HS offices will be temporarily closed.
